Can ChatGPT and other AI Platforms create websites?
The short answer is yes, ChatGPT can create websites. However, human input to get the site launched and ensure everything is properly functional is necessary.
As AI technology and LLM’s learn and expand, new offerings are coming up left and right.
For example, GoDaddy Airo can cook up a quick one page website for you quickly. However, GoDaddy websites in general are not great. They limit customization, don’t do well in search, and this is likely even more true with their AI sites. We would not recommend. Website builders like Wix are providing an AI website offering too, and we definitely would not recommend that. We’ve worked with Wix sites and they do not perform as well in search as platforms like WordPress, so we expect the same with their AI offering.
There is now an AI tool specifically noted to make websites and apps called Loveable. However, when you dig deeper, it’s more like web apps and one-pagers. They also charge on a monthly basis, based on what you’re doing. This is still a new tool and will be developed further.
At webFEAT Complete, we leverage AI to help us bring your vision to life faster, but we do not trust AI-generated websites to be unique, and we there it is too early to see how they perform. We firmly stand on our recommendation that WordPress is the best place to develop a website. And along with this, we think strictly AI content is not effective long-term. It may help with short-term wins, but we believe that long-term, unique human-influenced content will hold strongest.
